One Killed, Two Wounded in Shooting Near South Gate

SOUTH OF THE 10 - One man was killed, and two others injured in what authorities are calling a gang-related shooting Tuesday evening in the unincorporated Florence-Firestone area near South Gate.

The shooting was reported just before 6:35 p.m. at a liquor store in the 1700 block of Firestone Boulevard, near the Metro A (Blue) Line, according to Deputy Tracy Koerner of the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.

Deputies from the Century Sheriff’s Station found a man in his 30s in the store’s parking lot suffering from gunshot wounds.

He was pronounced dead at the scene, Koerner said.

Two additional shooting victims, a man in his 40s and a woman in her 20s, were  taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

No suspect description was provided.
