Election Season is Upon Us – and it’s Getting Hotter Every Day

LOS ANGELES

RANTZ & RAVEZ-I wrote in a previous column that the Election Commercials on TV were going to bombard you to the point of nausea.

I also mentioned the group that was looking forward to those commercials and planning to make a lot of money producing and showing them. Well, if you watch any TV you now know what I was talking about. The local TV stations have made BUNDLES of money on election commercials. And much more is yet to be made as we enter March and move toward November.

We can tell who has the money to spend and who is lacking in campaign funds. We find that the presidential candidate with the deepest pockets, worth billions of dollars, is former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg. Bloomberg not only spends millions of his billions on this campaign for president but is also throwing nice election gatherings with lots of food, souvenirs and good times. Is it time for a Party President for America? We will see in November. In the meantime, keep watching the circus atmosphere with the different presidential candidates vying for your vote. It is truly a performance that comes to us every four years.

Speaking of the upcoming election, please remember to vote by March 3. There are voting centers all over LA County. For information check out LAVOTE.net. If you choose not to VOTE, don’t complain about the results. If your taxes increase or a candidate is elected that you don’t like, look in the mirror and scream. You can blame only yourself for not voting.

Think about this for a moment. . .

Most of us complain a lot about things in our daily lives and communities. Massive traffic congestion on streets and freeways continues to get worse. Homeless people live on our sidewalks, streets and other public areas. Streets and sidewalks need repair. The cost of gasoline and utilities is high, as is the cost of housing. Student performance in our local school districts is poor. We have high ever-increasing sales and property taxes. The list goes on and on. We all live in the State of California for different reasons: jobs, family or lack of funds to move to another part of the country.

What most of us like and enjoy about LA and California are the only things elected officials have no control over: our mild climate and all the great places to visit such as the beach, mountains, deserts and everything in-between.

Concerned about the future of our city, country and state, I am making my personal recommendations for the March 3 elections. I am officially registered as Non-Partisan and am not being paid for these recommendations. They represent my personal opinions, reached after research. I believe the people below are the best candidates to serve all of us regardless of political party.
