CommentsCORRUPTION WATCH-The Commission on Judicial Performance finds nothing amiss with Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Gregory Wilson Alarcon. Looking at his ratings from The Robing Room, we see why the Federal Court blames California for having an epidemic of misconduct. Alarcon may be bad, but he is not the worst.
Rating is from 1 to 10 with 1 being worst. Alarcon’s average is 3.0 with 25. The Commission of Judicial Performance shows zero public action against Judge Alarcon. Since the proof is in the pudding, the public should see his ratings from The Robing Room.
After seeing this horror story, readers should understand why the California State Auditor wants to audit the records of the CJP, but the Commission insists that its backroom dealings remain secret. Government by secrecy! What can go wrong with that?

One of the worst of the worst. And look out for his clerk...she is the shop steward and runs the court. And she has an attitude of a rattlesnake. The only way to take him is if you have a really poor case because this guy is as likely to give to you as not.

He is the laziest judge ever. His Clerk is full of herself and a bully. He had the lawyers write up his judgement for him and submit it, then he picked one over the other and copy pasted. HORRIBLE, should be kicked out.

I believe this Judge may be sick in more ways than one. He seems incapable of making rulings ever, reading papers, and he lets his court staff run and dictate orders and evidence to them, so that they can decide, but they do not have law degrees. I also believe all of the incoherent orders coming out of this Court are not being written or decided by the Court. This Court is a real travesty and needs to shut down yea

One of the worst judges sitting in the Central District of LA Superior Court. If you have a serious case, you must 170.6 him, or your client will be very sorry. The man is a phony and a lazy slacker, without much going on upstairs.

Absolutely HORRID judge who should be disbarred immediately. Our case was dismissed for absolutely NO REASON what so ever. Not one word written. Nothing. We now have to go to the appeals court and beg that all claimants have causes of action that MUST be considered true! Alarcon needs to go back to Law School 101. He's a horrid, lazy human being. A disgrace to our justice system.

This judge overruled a demurrer because, "this is my general practice to overrule demurrers in quiet title cases." No reasoning, no law, just his "general practice."
His clerk, yes, his clerk, that woman with a tattoo, denied an ex parte application because "the judge will overrule it" and said she would not accept the paper and questioned me the basis for the ex parte. I had to tell her the law. She then said she would not accept it. I definitely would have fought it if that's for something important. He should put his clerk on the bench.

This guy comes off interesting, eccentric, and courteous. But what you find is he is actually just a lazy bum with a god complex that should you do something unknowingly that makes him dislike you, the law and facts will not matter one bit. This guy only got his job because his daddy was a federal judge and this is what you get.

It is unfortunate that this man is sitting on the bench. Standard operating procedure in my small firm is to 170.6 him no matter which side we are taking. His demeanor, his ability to comprehend anything that's going on, and his refusal to read papers are at the very bottom of judges that I have been in front of in my 53 years of practice. Enough is enough. He is a disgusting example of everything that's wrong with our court system and it is disgraceful that he is allowed to continue on and on and on. And if you really want to know what I really think, try a case in front of him.

I unfortunately endorse the negative comments on this judge. His tentatives are nothing more than cuts and pastes from a law clerk workup, with no relationship to the facts or issues. He listens, but simply adopts tentatives and goes to other things. Laziness would be a good description, but certainly the system should be doing better.

4 times in his courtroom he's been 30+ minutes late each time. Obvious he does not read the law and motion papers. Limited to poor grasp of legal concepts and basic human dynamics. Gullible. The liars have picked up on his work habits (extremely lazy) and make up all kinds of nonsense in his courtroom. He just smiles and nods his head and tells people to settle. At first, I thought he was bright but the more I saw him in action the more I felt he could not understand what was happening and was just kind of weird. His clerk tries to protect him.

Truly inept. Maybe he is just mailing it in. Rules on motions without reading them. If you're lucky he will cut and paste something into the tentative. Has blank rulings. Basically, he's like having a rock with a gavel. His clerk runs his court and she doesn't really know what she's doing. He has no business on the bench. Crony appointment, clearly.

The man is a non-starter. I have been a lawyer for more than 40 years, and I have to say that even grumpy judges don't bother me. But, where to these dopes come from? How does a lawyer like this get to be a judge? And who is supplying his PR to this site? Those positive reviews are laughable.
There are years more similar comments, but I am over my word count. See The Robing Room for all comments.
Judge Alarcon is not unique. Because judicial system encourages this corruption decade after decade, we are all in danger.
