Millionaires Chung Suk Kim and Hae Jung Kimare plenty rich. So why do they insist on displacing 80 South Central tenants from their homes? They own multiple strip malls and gas stations across Southern California, as well as a luxurious mansion in an upper-class neighborhood of Buena Park California.
However, all their piles of money could not quench their thirst for more wealth and in September of 2017 they purchased seven apartment buildings near the University of Southern California for $8.5 million dollars. Prior to the purchase, these buildings were being rented to over 80 people, almost exclusively low-income people of color.Immediately after the sale, the Kims served all tenants with 60 and 90-day eviction notices. The notices explicitly stated that the apartments would be renovated and rented exclusively to USC students.
To add insult to injury, both USC and councilmember Marqueece Harris-Dawson are refusing to publicly oppose the evictions and instead have opted to side with the greedy landlords and developers that are selling off South Central LA to the highest bidder.
For months the Exposition tenants have demanded to meet with their new landlord to air their grievances and negotiate reasonable rents, but the Kims have refused to set foot in their own buildings! This refusal to meet has left us with no other choice but to meet the Kims on their own turf. We’ve protested in front of their Orange County mansions and now we’re headed to their commercial properties to have our voices heard!

¡Únete al Sindicato de Inquilinos del LA y la Asociación de Inquilinxs de Exposición mientras se reúnen para protestar en frente el centro comercial de Chung Suk Kim y Hae Jung Kim's localisado en el 5044 Wilshire Blvd de 5:00-7:00pm.
Los millonarios Chung Suk Kim y Hae Jung Kim tienen bastante dinero. Entonces, ¿por qué insisten en desplazar a 80 inquilinos del Sur de Los Ángeles de sus hogares? Poseen múltiples centros comerciales y gasolineras en todo el sur de California, así como una lujosa mansión en un barrio de clase alta en Buena Park California.
Sin embargo, todos sus montones de dinero no pudieron saciar su sed por más riqueza y en septiembre de 2017 compraron siete edificios cerca de la Universidad del Sur de California por $ 8.5 millones de dólares. Antes de la compra, estos edificios se rentaban a más de 80 personas, casi exclusivamente personas de color de la clase obrera.Inmediatamente después de la venta, los Kims entregaron avisos de desalojo de 60 y 90 días a todxs lxs inquilinxs. Los avisos indicaban explícitamente que los apartamentos serían renovados y rentados exclusivamente a estudiantes de USC.
Para colmo de males, tanto USC como el concejal Marqueece Harris-Dawson se niegan a oponerse públicamente a los desalojos, y en su lugar han optado por ponerse del lado de los propietarios buitres y las corporaciones que están vendiendo el Sur de Los Ángeles al mejor postor.
Durante meses, los inquilinos de la Exposición han exigido reunirse con sus nuevxs propietarixs para presentar sus quejas y negociar rentas razonables, ¡pero lxs Kims se han negado a poner un pie en sus propios edificios! Este rechazo a reunirse no nos ha dejado otra opción más que citarnos con los Kims en su propio territorio. ¡Hemos protestado en frente a sus mansiones en el OC y ahora vamos a sus propiedades comerciales!
