THE VIEW FROM HERE - America’s two most widely known Jewish institutions for fighting prejudice and bigotry not only against Jews, but also against any person based on the person’s ascriptive status have become strong supporters of the Democrats’ racist, anti-Jewish, DEI programs (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, aka Pelosi’s “Identity Politics.”) In return for their support for DEI, the Dems have managed to send millions of dollars to these and similar Dem institutions such as many JFEDs (Jewish Federation Councils) (“Ascriptive” refers to an ideology where one is not judged by individual merit or actions but one’s identity of class, religion, and region, etc.)
DEI is inherently a bigoted ideology where the entire world is divided into two parts: The Oppressors (Whites and Jews) and the Oppressed (minorities, especially Blacks and Hamas). Both the Declaration of Independence with its inalienable rights and the US Constitution one of whose purposes is “to secure blessings of liberty” are irreconcilably opposed to Woke DEI which is based 100% on Group Rights. Under DEI Group Rights, one is judged by the group to which he belongs. Thus, skin color, religion, ethnicity, gender identity are the basis to evaluated one’s morality. This ideology explains protestors sign declaring Gays for Hamas. Profoundly ignorant Gays openly supported the mass murder of Jews for no reason other than Jews are classified as Oppressors and Hamas as Muslims, are ipso facto Oppressed victims.
Because Wokeism is unalterably opposed to individual rights, individual Jews as a Oppressors are legitimate targets of murder, rape and extermination. Absolutely nothing within the DEI Ideology allows for any exception for any Jew as an Oppressor. The Woke ideology, especially as promoted by Nancy Pelosi’s and her Identity Politics, was the strongest supporter for DEI in the US Congress and was instrumental in promoting anti-Semites to positions of prominence, e.g., In 2007, Pelosi visited the genocidal Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, dictator of Syria, and undermined President Bush’s efforts to isolate Assad and his virulent anti-Semitism. (Not until December 8, 2024 was Assad overthrown with the help of Israel who had decimated Hezbollah in Lebanon and Syria). Pelosi had strenuously objected to the IDF’s miliary campaigns against both Hamas and Hezbollah) Pelosi was a leading DEI critic of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and boycotted his address to Congress. In 2024, Pelosi who urged President Biden to stop supplies to Israel. Under Pelosi’s tutelage, the doddering President Joe Biden issued a stream of pro-DEI and anti-Jewish Blood Libels against Israel. Woke DEI (aka Identity Politics) Is Not New
In the 20th century the two infamous incarnations have been Soviet Communism and Nazism. Communist doctrine believed that the entire world was divided between the Oppressors (capitalists) and the Oppressed (The Workers). Although many Soviet communists were anti-Semitic, Communist DEI was not inherently racist since capitalists and workers were of various races. The worse Dem Woke forerunner was German Nazism, where the division between the Oppressors (Jews) and the Oppressed (Aryans) was race based. Nazis hate all non-Aryans (Slavs, Blacks, etc), as inferior beings, but they singled out Jews as the real threat. The same philosophy dominates the Dem DEI propaganda.
Harvard’s and other Elite Anti-Semitism
When the Presidents of Harvard, MIT, and U Penn felt that advocating for the genocide of Jews was acceptable depending on circumstances, neither the AJC nor the ADL objected to the unmasking of Woke DEI. In fact, after Harvard President Claudine Gay was exposed as not only anti-Jewish and a serial plagiarist the ADL’s Jonathan Greenblatt continued to support Claudine Gay and her anti-Jewish history. Upon looking into the situation, one learned that both the AJC and the ADL had been strong promoters of the anti-Jewish Woke DEI at many Ivy League universities. see AJC and Claudine Gay
The AJC and the ADL try to hide their support of Woke DEI, by claiming that they are working to have Jews changed from the oppressor class to the oppressed victim class. In other words, neither the AJC nor the ADL had an unkind word to say about the inherent racism of Woke DEI. They were working to become the newest Poverty Pimps, where they would rake in millions of dollars to fight anti-Semitism. They proposed extensive Woke indoctrination in schools and elsewhere based on Jews being presented as victims and not perpetrators. Their position was and is an immoral form of Narishkeit.
Both the AJC’ and the ADL’s track records show that for years they have supported the Woke anti-individual liberties approach as stated by not only the Declaration but also by Martin Luther King’s maxim to judge each person by their own character and not based on their color, race, creed, etc. The AJC and the ADL have been promoting a perniciously evil variant of the Woke ideology where Jews, as members of the newest victim class of Oppressed like Hamas can do no wrong! Classifying all Jews as Oppressed victims is as morally repugnant under American and traditional Jewish values as classifying all Jews as Oppressors. The entire Woke DEI program is racist to its core!
Even today, May 25, 2025, the AJC’s national website still urges its variant of Woke DEI to “Integrate Jewish Identity into DEI. Ensure Jews and Jewish experiences are explicitly included in Diversity, Equality and inclusive initiatives.”
Jewish tradition rejects treating any individual on the basis of his membership in some ascriptive group, Jewish, Muslim, American, White, Black, Gay. As a Gay, Jewish American. I denounce the behavior of both the AJC and the ADL over that last several years as a shanda, bringing disgrace upon Jews. As former assistant area director of the Los Angeles Chapter of the American Jewish Committee during the early 1970's and as a volunteer and participant in B’nai B’rith Activities and supported of the ADL, I personally know that the recent and present behavior of the AJC and the ADL is despicable and outside the bounds Jewish tradition.
Both the AJC and the ADL have become agents of the Dem Party and have adhered to the Dem Woke DEI to the detriment of Americans in general and to American Jews in particular. Both the AJC and ADL are headed by Dem political operatives who have a greater personal state in their Dem credentials than in protecting Jews and others affected by discrimination. The AJC’s CEO Ted Deutch is 12 year Dem member of House of Representatives from (2010-2022) and ADL’s CEO Jonathan Greenblatt (2011-2014) was special assistant to President Obama.
The vast majority of American Jews are deceived by these formerly respectable agencies. While the AJC and ADL widely and loudly complain about Anti-Semitism, they more quietly support the sole origin of current leftish anti-Semitism, Woke DEI. It is a conflict of interest to be the CEO of agencies which support anti-Jewish Woke DEI and to also rake in millions of dollars when Jews we Jews are not safe to walk the streets. It’s the story of the arsonist fireman.
