“For All The Right Reasons”

VOICES

A VIEW FROM HERE - Kamala Harris’s vice-presidential running mate, Tim Walz, said that the anti-Israel protestors were motivated by “all the right reasons.”

Heretofore, most demonstrators did not characterize themselves as “anti-Israel.”  Many Americans thought that one might object to aspects of the war without becoming anti-Israel.  By Walz’ adoption of term “anti-Israel,” and then claiming that they were acting for all the right reasons, Walz admitted that the Kamala-Walz views are anti-Israel.  This newer woke theme makes it easier for Walz to totally ignore Hamas and solely blame Israel for the plight of the Gazans.

In issuing his August 3, 2024 injunction against UCLA (Frankel vs US Regents 2:24-cv-04702-MCS-PD), federal district court judge Mark C. Scarsi showed how UCLA knowingly engaged in discrimination against American Jews. Judge Scarsi’s first paragraph stated:

“In the year 2024, in the United States of America, in the State of California, in the City of Los Angeles, Jewish students were excluded from portions of the UCLA campus because they refused to denounce their faith. This fact is so unimaginable and so abhorrent to our constitutional guarantee of religious freedom that it bears repeating, Jewish students were excluded from portions of the UCLA campus because they refused to denounce their faith. UCLA does not dispute this. Instead, UCLA claims that it has no responsibility to protect the religious freedom of its Jewish students because the exclusion was engineered by third-party protesters. But under constitutional principles, UCLA may not allow services to some students when UCLA knows that other students are excluded on religious grounds, regardless of who engineered the exclusion.”

It is amazing that close to a month after Judge Scarsi’s opinion, Tim Walz openly agreed that the demonstrators were anti-Israel and then placed all blame for the plight of the Gazans on Israel.

Tim Walz Use an Absolute Concept

The most memorable quote from Walz is: ““I think those folks who are speaking out loudly in Michigan are speaking out for all the right reasons.” (Bold added) Walz did not say some had good motives or even that people can disagree on important matters. He chose to phrase his comments as absolute “all the right reasons.”  That means none of their reasons were illicit.

In contrast, when Trump spoke about the Charlottesville protests, his most memorable quote, “But you also had people that were very fine people, on both sides,” rebutted the notion that everyone in Charlottesville was a Nazi or White Supremacist.  Trump did not say that everyone was acting for the right reasons.  Trump’s words came in a paragraph whose theme was to denounce Nazis and White Supremacists. See  SNOPES.   Back then, Trump condemned the neo-Nazis and white supremacist. “I'm not talking about the neo-Nazis and the white nationalists, because they should be condemned totally. But you had many people in that group other than neo-Nazis and white nationalists, okay?”   Walz has no unkind words about the protestors who are calling for the extermination of Jews.  Walz’ support for being anti-Israel come months after university presidents lost their jobs for telling Congress that allowing students to make such proclamations against Jews is OK “depending on context.”

Walz not only said nothing untoward about the anti-Israel protestors, but also he did not mention Hamas. Walz said: ““I think first and foremost, what we saw on October 7 was a horrific act of violence against the people of Israel.”  This is consistent with the Woke practice to ignore, downplay, or deny Hamas’ atrocities.  When the six Hamas hostages were found shot in head in a tunnel beneath Rafah, the Woke media at first concealed Hamas’ role by reporting that that they “died.”

A careful reader will notice that Walz not only failed to mention Hamas, but he limited murders, rapes, and pillage of Israelis to a single day, thereby erasing Hamas’ on-going war crimes.  Although it is a war crime to take and to hold hostages and it is a war crime to use one’s own citizens as human shields, Walz ignored that Hamas war crimes continue to this day. He ignores than Hamas has been continuously shelling Israel and that the IDF has to stop the constant attacks on Southern Israel.  Walz ignores that Hamas has rejected every Cease-fire proposal and has recently refused to participate in the ersatz cease-fire talks.

The Protestors Admit their Reasons for the anti-Israel Demonstrations:

(1) First on their list is the extermination of all Jews — “Between the River and the Sea” that means the entire country of Israel.   Listen their protestors: So when these fools ask us if Israel has the right to exist … the chant ‘Death to Israel’ has become the most logical chant across the world today,” Major anti-Israel Demonstration leader Tarek Bazzi

(2) Second is Death to America.  Protest leader Tarek Bazzi explained the reasons to call for Death to America.  “It’s not Genocide Joe that has to go, ... It’s the entire system that has to go. . .  any system that would allow such atrocities and such devilry to happen and would support it — such a system does not deserve to exist on God’s Earth.” (By “system,” they mean that America has to be exterminated.

Tim Walz knows that two main reasons for the demonstrations is extermination of Jews and for the destruction of the United States.  Nowhere did Walz even hint that maybe some protestors had the wrong reasons.

Walz Places all Blame on Israel

At this point, Walz is clear about the identity of the villain. “We [US] can’t allow what’s happened in Gaza to happen .. . “The Palestinian people have every right to life and liberty themselves. We [US] need to continue, I think, to put the leverage on to make sure we move towards a two-state solution.”

On whom should the US put leverage? On the unmentioned Hamas? No, of course not.

“Then, Walz clarified where, in his view, the U.S. should exert leverage: on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. . . .  We need the Netanyahu government to start moving in that direction.”  (Bold added)

The new Harris-Walz theme is Blame Israel not Hamas Due to the months of anti-Jewish Blood Libels from Joe Biden and the Woke US media’s gross distortion of virtually everything about the war in Gaza, most Americans will miss how morally bankrupt Walz has become.  See Blood Libels

A Necessary Word About Netanyahu and the Philadelphi Corridor

In 2003, when then Israel’s Prime Minister Ariel Sharon proposed that Israel withdraw from Gaza, Netanyahu objected to IDF’s leaving the Philadelphi Corridor, i.e., that stip of land along Gaza’s southern border with Egypt. It is only 9 miles long and about 100 yards wide.  Netanyahu said that the 9-mile strip would become the major route by which Palestinians would import military hardware and launch another attack on Israel. The Sharon’s abandonment of Gaza was supposed to lead to peace. Netanyahu said it was absolutely essential that the IDF be in control of the Corridor to prevent the most extreme Islamists from building up a military force in Gaza.

Netanyahu was 100% correct. He was so certain of his position, that he quit the Sharon government.  After Sharon forced all the Jews out of Gaza in 2005, Gazans elected Hamas as their government, whose first priority was the murder of the members of the Fatah Party.  Hamas then began its extensive tunnel system, especially along the Philadelphi Corridor. Now that the IDF has taken control of the Philadelphi Corridor, we see that Netanyahu was 100% correct. He was also correct that the UN was cooperating with Hamas.   A major motive for Obama’s and Biden’s efforts to overthrow the Netanyahu coalition government is that Netanyahu was also 100% right about the disaster of Obama Doctrine’s allowing Iran have enough funds to create a nuclear bomb and to fund Hamas, Hezbollah, and The Houthis.

As governor of Minnesota, Walz may have been unaware of the complex history of the Middle East and the way Joe Biden provided Iran with the funds to arm Hamas. As the Vice-Presidential candidate, however, Walz has no excuse for his openly supporting protestors whose two main goals are the extermination of Jews and Death to America.
