If "The Last of Us" Was Jewish.  Have I Got an Idea For A Horror Film?

VOICES

ABE WON’T BE SILENT - We all know that antisemitism is on the rise. It has become prevalent worldwide, even in enclaves like Beverly Hills, CA, where one would imagine that these things don’t happen there.

The number of references I hear daily on social media that we’re living in 1933 Germany is really pissing me off. Being a child of Holocaust survivors, this is not the kind of world I intend to live in, so I’ve been obsessing about how I can get back at all these white supremacists.

What can I do to shut these evil-doers up? You see, I’m way too non-violent to go out and buy a gun and become a vigilante.

But in my mind, now there it’s a different story. No Nazi would want to live in there, honey, simply because living is not what they’d be doing if you get my drift. So, instead, I’ve come up with an idea for a film to deal with these motherfuckers, once and for all. And boy, is it a doozy.

Here is the setup. Like millions, I was riveted by the recent HBO series, “The Last of Us.” The thought of being chased by zombies brought me back to my youth when I went to Loew’s Criterion Theater in Times Square to see “Night of the Living Dead.” That was the scariest movie, simply because the only other film remotely like that was “Day of the Triffids,” which totally freaked me out. Imagine the “Wizard of Oz” Tree People on bath salts. It’s why I avoided “The Walking Dead” series and its spin-offs.

When I was told the premise of “The Last of Us,” I shrugged it off. But somehow, I gave it a chance since I was jonesing for “House of the Dragon.” Besides, I felt so bad for the character Lyanna Mormont played by Bella Ramsey, from “Game of Thrones.” I was rooting for her to have a kick-ass comeback following that horrendous demise that her character suffered. I’m happy to say she’s living happily ever after in this new role, Ellie, on “The Last of Us.” And boy, does she kick ass?

So, here’s the Elevator Pitch. Imagine if the 6 million Jews that the Nazis slaughtered during the Holocaust returned from the dead and dispersed throughout the world where antisemitism has reared its ugly head. Starting with the good old USA. That’s it, that’s the pitch. It’s like “Night of the Living Dead” meets “Invasion of the Body Snatchers,” only you are rooting for the Jewish Zombies to annihilate the millions of MAGA types. You watch with glee as every Jewish Zombie gets to unalive all the white supremacists in the same exact way that they were senselessly murdered.

Once the heroic Jewish Zombies rid the world of every last one of these horrendous monsters, they each get a proper burial attended by their living family members, thanks to the support of Ancestry.com and 23 and Me, who have located all their relatives. Talk about happily ever after.

Working title: “Karma Is Much More Than A Bitch”. (“Zombie Holocaust” was taken.)

What do you think? Should I pitch Steven Spielberg?

Peace…
