Good-Bye Joe, Hello Pete?

LOS ANGELES

ONE MAN’S OPINION-After the sturm and drang of Herr Trump’s ersatz impeachment, maybe we can engage in contemplation and find room for rational thought.

So, ole Uncle Joe is fading, and Mayor Pete’s star is rising. Why is that? Could it be that the rank and file are disenchanted with a party too inept to impeach a psycho and want another JFK or an Obama-esque figure onto whom they can project their ideal candidate?

Will the two mayors emerge allies from California? Conventional wisdom says, “No.” Tickets need diversity – so they tell us.  But if we really love diversity so much, why are all the minorities (unless Jews are still a minority) out of the running?

How’s that gonna work out? Three Jews are a possible candidate after Pelosi has made the Dem Party safe for ant-Semites. Awkward.

Tom Steyer is California’s only local entry in the March 3 California primary. Ten to one, it gains him virtually nothing. He was an early impeacher, but where was he during the House fiasco? If you’re gonna be in the political game, you’ve got to deal yourself into it. He was MIA.

Tommy doesn’t really talk politics, but we can discern he has no understanding of the Republic. He’s all in on Identity Politics, which is predicated on the rejection of individual inalienable rights when the Republic was created. Tommy is pushing the diversity meme, but the minority voters don’t hew to that line as much as the white promoters wish they would. That’s why the minority candidates are gone – more minorities than expected are following Martin Luther King Jr.’s wisdom to judge a man by the content of his character and not the color of his skin. Mobocracy doesn’t seem too fashionable among voters who take time to think.

Good-bye Joe! It would be nice if Angelenos bid Biden farewell after his choosing of Garcetti as a national co-chair. Yep, that was a good choice – the guy who has destroyed Los Angeles and is responsible for about 300 needlessly dead homeless people each year becomes Biden’s co-chair.  Before Garcetti ensconced himself in City Hall in 2001, LA was the number one destination city. Now it has become the last choice among urban areas, but it’s number one in the world in traffic congestion. The population is decreasing, but taxes are going up. Take a gander at the new taxes Garcetti and his cohorts have foisting upon us.

So let’s hide away our passions for the March 3 primary, and instead, l do as we were taught in grade school when crossing the street: Stop, look and listen -- and then think.
