GELFAND’S WORLD - The voters of Los Angeles are demonstrably fed up. The proof is the slow motion bloodbath in recent elections when it comes to incumbents.

GELFAND’S WORLD - There is a lot to say, because a lot has happened. 

GELFAND’S WORLD - That red wave or, as I preferred to call it, the red tide, failed to appear on Election night.

GELFAND’S WORLD - There is very little left to say about this election. Caruso has run another umpteen million dollars worth of television ads.

GELFAND’S WORLD - For the first time in maybe forever, Los Angeles will resemble a European parliamentary democracy for a few weeks.

GELFAND’S WORLD - While we've been squabbling over who is to blame for inflation and gas prices, the Ukraine War has mostly been ignored on the nightly news and in American politics. This is a mistake.

GELFAND’S WORLD - The phone rang in the late afternoon. It was another campaign call for a local City Council candidate. This was the third or the fourth, but the caller was willing to listen to me, and out of our conversation came one realization.
