As a product of California’s public higher education system, Francesca Vega has experienced first-hand how access to and affordability of public higher education is a game changer for students, families and the community.
Along with her two older sisters, Francesca is a member of the first generation of her family to attend and graduate from college, receiving her BA in Government from Sacramento State University.
Francesca's professional and community work has been dedicated to working across diverse ethnic, socioeconomic, cultural, and geographic communities, which is reflected in her endorsements from leaders such as Congressmembers Brad Sherman and Karen Bass, Senator Ricardo Lara, and LAACD Board President Scott Svonkin.
For 14 years, Francesca has worked within the public policy and public higher education arena, at both UCLA and most recently at Cal State Northridge where she serves as the Director of Government and Community Relations.
Whether it is transfer to a four-year institution, career-tech, an apprenticeship program, or strengthening basic skills, Francesca’s objective is to see all students successfully complete their goals.
