CommentsCITYWATCH TODAY—The Women’s March is set for Saturday in DC. Women march but will be speaking for many … of both genders.
Planners are predicting a bigger crowd for the March than for the inauguration the day before. The Washington Post and NBC both confirmed that more than 1,200 requests have been made for RFK parking permits for the March. Fewer than 200 have been requested for the swearing in.
Supportive Women’s Marches will happen in hundreds of cities around the country … including downtown Los Angeles. CityWatch writers will be marching in DC and LA and will keep us posted … words, sound and pix … from both DC and LA events starting Thursday. We’ll remind you in the CityWatch Briefing e-blast. Dianne Lawrence reports from DC. Jennifer Caldwell from LA.
To get your marching juices flowing, Deirdre Fulton sets up the March and Women’s March founder Linda Sarsour tells us how she came to this point in a CWTV video … both front and center in Today’s CityWatch.
In the meantime, former LA Mayor Villaraigosa interviews for the Governor job, Dan Guss questions current Mayor Garcetti’s choice for Interim CAO, Bob Gelfand goes grass roots with his thoughts on the Progressive Tea Party, Shelley Wagers reminds us to show up for Mansionization ‘D’ Day on Wednesday, Beth Cone Kramer says Councilman Cedillo is continuing to swim upstream in his effort to stay in office, and Matthew Hetz takes us on a flight of fancy at LAX.
