When Bakersfield-based oil company E&B Natural Resources sought to put wells in Hermosa Beach that would dig through the ocean floor sideways in 2013, the company’s president said he wanted the community’s trust. 

GUEST COMMENTARY-When alert residents of Elysian Valley noticed that a member of their Neighborhood Council posted an anti-Semitic image on social media, it was a glaring signal that the local body had lost its way.

CONNECTING CALIFORNIA--California’s fight against climate change isn’t doing all that much to slow climate change. But the fight should be considered a success anyway.

EASTSIDER-While the establishment, including all the Republicans and  a number of Dems, are freaking out that Biden’s $2 Trillion Infrastructure Bill is just too much, what about their code of silence regarding their Wall Street Owners? Why is virtually all of Congress silent about Wall Street’s bets with you and I on the hook if they tank? 

OTHERWORDS-Even as the Biden administration commits to environmental justice, people in the Fifth District of Louisiana’s St. James Parish are mobilizing to stop a Formosa plastics plant accused of environmental racism in the majority-Black community.
