WELLNESS--If you’re shopping at your local health food store or pharmacy, you’ll definitely notice many new and unique products that contain activated charcoal. From lemonade and toothpaste to supplements, water filters, and face masks, this ingredient is the hot trend of the year.
WELLNESS--If you work for yourself, you understand that although it offers an exciting and independent opportunity, it isn’t always what we dreamed it would be.
WELLNESS--Lately, there is A LOT of talk about CBD oil. When discussing Cannabidiol (CBD), many people still have some misconceptions, and often, they confuse it with marijuana’s psychoactive chemical component known as Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC).
WELLNESS--This week, I got to thinking about the motivation behind my passion for health. I realized that some of the energy that I put in, the supplements, organic food, alkaline water, and even exercise, is partly based on fear. Thoughts like “I don’t want to get sick” or “I want to protect myself from that” often sit just below the surface.

Needing a simpler, less hectic life seems to be on the minds of many. What was once invented to bring us closer together, social media and modern technology only seems to be having the opposite effect. We are lonelier and more isolated than ever.
WELLNESS--The very topic that causes so many of us stress and anxiety can on the flip side, also bring much joy and empowerment. So how do we find a balance between making sure that it doesn’t control us while still ensuringthat we have enough?
WELLNESS--You may be curious as to why I’d write about the Oscars in a wellness section of CityWatchLA. One might think that the Hollywood scene is all about money, power, outer appearances, and a fake double kiss on the cheek with the right connections.
WELLNESS--The law of attraction is certainly not new but it has gotten much more attention over the past decade since the movie “The Secret” came out which spread the message that “what we think about often becomes our reality.”
WELLNESS--Okay we’ve all been there. We go on a date, lunch with a friend, or we meet somebody at an event and all we can notice is their bad breath! How do we react? Do we tell them or do we just pretend not to notice?
WELLNESS--Many years ago I decided to try therapy because I was dealing with depression due to the break-up of a long-term relationship. My therapist having known that I felt down for an extended period said “you may feel depressed, but chances are you’re just really angry.” She went on to explain that depression and anger are closely tied together. Although depression can be a clinical diagnosis that requires professional care, it may also be caused by unexpressed anger or resentment towards somebody or something.
WELLNESS--Laughter may truly be the best medicine. Life for many of us has gotten so serious and along with that comes less time to laugh, have fun, and enjoy life.
WELLNESS--I am ALL for being optimistic and thinking positive. I believe that we can to some degree, create our destiny using affirmations, a focused mindset, and the power of intention. But if you’ve tried to implement the law of attraction you may have found that things don’t always go as planned.
WELLNESS--It seems that carbs have been getting a very bad rap especially for those looking to lose weight and get fit. The ketogenic diet, which has gained immense popularity over the past few years, has emphasized the lowering of carbohydrates and the increasing of good fats and protein.
