The Video Karen Bass Doesn’t Want You To See

SOUTH OF THE 10 - The Karen Bass campaign for mayor is sending out ‘cease and desist’ letters to area news stations about a video released by the Los Angeles Police Protective League (LAPPL) the union that represents the rank and file members of LAPD.

The video discusses her Congressional voting record, which includes voting in favor of millions of dollars in research funding for universities across the country, including USC.

USC lists multiple press releases on the university’s website sharing details of their visits to DC to encourage the passage of legislation that directly benefits them. The first was from 2011, two months after Bass was sworn in to Congress. The most recent was 2019

The LA Times didn’t press Bass on questions surrounding her not recording the $95,000 degree she was awarded, why she believed she should have gotten her graduate education for free, and why did it take seven years for her to report it. It wasn’t until around the time Mark Ridley-Thomas was under federal scrutiny that her lawyer “found” the error and updated her campaign forms.

The Times would go on to endorse Bass for mayor, however, their endorsement process is tainted when they have a magnifying glass up the butt of our Sheriff but continue to coddle elected officials who could have a direct impact on their bottom line. This is the same newspaper that endorsed MRT for city council knowing full well he was under federal investigation. Hell, the Times broke the story.
