How the Presidential Race was Influenced by POC

SAY WHAT?

MEDIA WATCH--Dwayne Bryant is an internationally renowned speaker, best-selling author, educational consultant, trainer and Alumni of the FBI Citizen’s Academy. Known for his high-energy, unique ability to connect to an audience, keen intellect and wit, Bryant fuels audiences by sharing his credo of hard work, perseverance, integrity, and applied faith, which are the keys to his success.

Here, Bryant discusses how the presidential race was influenced by POC and how the next president will impact POC, as well as:

  • Is democracy dead? "We have projected an image that America loves democracy.  We are seeing the President of the United States request democracy, where every vote gets counted to the end, as long as it presents a win for him. That isn’t a democracy, that is a dictatorship."
  • How will the next president improve relationships between police and the Black community? "I believe the police killings of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor and the tragic, countless others are contributing to more blue states than red. People are tired and angry."
  • How can the Black community improve the political landscape? "Whether it’s 50 Cent, Kanye West, Ice Cube or Sean Combs, many prominent Black men have declared we can no longer have allegiance to the Democratic party. This mood is growing because Black men believe the Democratic Party has failed them. Still though, there is no substantial proof that the Republican Party has done it will do any better. Some are also deciding to just stay home altogether. My view is we must be engaged in America’s political process. I agree that neither party has a stellar record in representing our interests, which is why it is time to review and readdress a Black Agenda."
  • Is there really a blue wave? Maybe, Bryant says, despite the presidential election being so close. "Michigan and Wisconsin were red when Trump won in 2016. Georgia was never a battleground state. Arizona was red for Trump. More Americans are voting than ever before and the votes are majority for Biden. The red wall is shifting blue because it is a repudiation of Donald Trump."
