POT WATCH--Are you a smoker? If so, you know that there are some things you should do to make the experience more enjoyable.

And, there are also some things you should avoid doing. We all know that smoking weed can be a lot of fun. However, if you want to make the most of your experience, it's important to avoid making some common mistakes.

In this blog post, we're going to take a look at four mistakes that you should avoid when smoking weed. Keep these in mind, and you'll have a better smoking experience every time!

Jumping in the Deep End

One of the biggest mistakes that you could make when smoking weed, especially for the first time, is jumping in the deep end. What this means is that for most people, such as those who haven’t smoked before, anticipating the effects is almost impossible; getting high is not like getting drunk.

A big consequence of consuming too much when you are not ready for it is having a bad trip. A bad trip is characterized by anxiety and strong feelings of paranoia. To avoid this, you should always start slowly, and learn your limits. Over time, you can increase the amount you consume, but this will be a process of trial and error.

Not Using the Best Equipment

The next mistake that many people make when consuming marijuana is not using the best equipment. Sure, if you are in a rush, then using a bottle or an apple will work just fine. However, the experience definitely won’t be as pleasant as it would be if you were using the proper equipment.

For example, if you used Grasscity’s bong with a percolator, the smoke wouldn’t feel as harsh when inhaled. Similarly, if you were to use a small bong, the hit would be much harsher than if you were to have used a larger bong, with better circulation and filtration. This translates to dry herb vaporizers as well, in the way that with a dry herb vaporizer, the high is a lot more smooth and mellow, compared to smoking.

Not Cleaning Your Devices

Another big mistake that people make, especially those new to consuming marijuana, is not cleaning their devices. It doesn’t matter if you are using a bong, or a dry herb vaporizer, your devices need to be cleaned to have a great experience.

For example, if you don’t clean your dry herb vaporizer, chunks of unvaporized marijuana, and left-over resin, will remain in the chamber and affect the taste of the next session. More than this, this will make the device work harder than it needs to, speeding up the process of degradation. This goes for bongs too, since they do stain, and the bowl does get very sticky.

Not Knowing Different Strains

If you are not aware, different marijuana plants produce different effects, and this is because there are different strains of cannabis. Not knowing the different strains and what they do, will affect your experience, and probably not in a good way.

For example, maybe you want to relax for the evening, but you still want to be relatively alert and be able to participate in your favorite hobby, such as gaming. In that case, smoking indica might not be the best choice, since this strain will give you a body high and make you feel incredibly lazy.

Rushing Edibles

Perhaps one of the biggest mistakes that you could make is rushing edibles. What this means is that many beginners aren’t aware that the effects of edibles are only felt between one and two hours. This is because the THC has to go through your digestive system.

As a result, many beginners tend to consume more edibles since they aren’t feeling anything. Suffice to say, this leaves them quite high and indisposed, because they most likely aren’t ready to experience such intense effects.

Not Grinding the Cannabis

Finally, the last mistake that you could make when consuming marijuana is not grinding the cannabis. This affects quite a few consumption methods and might make your experience less than enjoyable.

For example, if you don’t grind cannabis when rolling a joint, it will look disfigured and awkward. More than this, because it isn’t rolled properly, you will most likely need to relight it a few times. In terms of dry herb vaporizers, the marijuana might not vaporize evenly and you will be left with chunks.
