Murderous Violence Benefits Both the GOP and the Dems
The politicos in both the GOP and the Democrat Party do not want any discussion of the role they play in perpetuating internecine violence. They squelch any analysis that interferes with their making political hay of the on-going violence. It is unacceptable to mention the role that religious fundamentalism played in creating the rage resulting in the deaths at Pulse nightclub and at the Chabad Center in Poway, California.
Religious Fundamentalism Creates Murderous Rage
In each instance, one finds religious fundamentalism at the core of these murders. One needs to understand the difference between the socially acceptable anti-Semitism of Nancy Pelosi and her relative, Gov. Gavin Newsom, and the murderous rage which erupts when psychological repression is projected onto Jews and Gays. Neither Pelosi nor Newsom is motivated by rage; it’s all political opportunism and/or moral cowardice. So too with Donald Trump who is very favorably disposed towards Jews but, being a careless speaker, he allows anti-Semitic tropes to slip into his rants. Socially acceptable anti-Semitism was part of his growing up as a Presbyterian WASP.
Homophobia Induces the Rage Which Fuels Murder
Religious fundamentalism like John Earnest’s Orthodox Presbyterianism (which is almost an oxymoron) inculcates in young males a deep-seated self-loathing as they hear hate-filled words from their earliest days about how God hates them; how they are like criminals. They hear their fathers say they would rather their “son be dead than gay.” If they show any signs of the dreaded moral disease of Gayness, they are shunned. At best they will be sent to reparative summer camps so that the Blessed Lord Jesus can rid them of the mortal sin of “HOMOsexuality.” Of course, it never works.
The Secular Component of Homophobia
While Sam Woodward’s priest took the traditional religious route that being Gay is a sin, there is the more deadly secular belief that Gays are weak. This false belief predates Christianity as evidenced by the fact that Julius Caesar was ridiculed as he was a “bottom” which meant he was seen in a passive feminine role. Nazis in particular exhibit this aspect of homophobia.
One can understand why a young male would be terrified to look inside himself and find out that he is weak. The fatal error is that sexual feelings for the same sex are not a sign of weakness. It is, however, that false subconscious linkage of same sex feelings to weakness that can result in the terrible repression that leads to uncontrollable rage. Gay teenage males have a higher than average suicide rate – rage can be directed at one’s own self or at others.
The Role of Projection in Anti-Semitism
Psychological projection is the defense mechanism of projecting undesirable inner emotions onto someone else, rather than admitting to the unwanted feelings. Because the role of a defense mechanism is to hide from the individual truths about himself, his feelings are often repressed to the point where he has no conscious recognition of their existence.
Those who have lived through such experiences can recognize it when they see it in others. People who have no self-experience with repression, can learn to spot some of the signs that the repressed feelings are trying to break through. Straight men who are obsessed with the dangers of homosexuality are almost invariably seriously repressed. A man who is not repressing same sex feelings has no reason to be preoccupied with Gays.
Jews are the traditional scapegoat in Western Civilizations. We have been blamed for everything. Thus, when a young man is casting about for the cause of his inner torment, seizing upon us perfidious Jews answers his question. “It’s not me; it’s the Jews.”
The Rage of Repression
Politicos do not want to hear about the rage of repression. They prefer to use the word “hate” and “hatred” because that term is politically beneficial. Society has a legal infrastructure to deal with hate, but the legal system has no mechanism to handle rage. When Earnest expresses “hate” for Jews, his repressed self is projecting its rage outward. The repression felt by people like Marteen, Woodward and Earnest is one of annihilation. That feeling fuels their intense rage and they will often accuse Jews of genocide. The feelings of Earnest are real, but he does not realize that they are feelings about his own self which he then projects onto Jews. Earnest’s posting about Jews should become a textbook example how repressed sexuality is expressed as anti-Semitism.

But the Jew—with his genocidal instincts—is insistent on poking the bear until it tears his head off. The Jew has forced our hand, and our response is completely justified," he wrote. People who have been driven insane by religiosity’s bigotry express themselves in distorted ways. When one understands the origins of Earnest’s inner rage, then one can see why he would speak in such a coded fashion. His factual delusions speak an existential truth about his inner self.
Rage is Self-Experiential
Few people experience the personal rage of annihilation of the Self. The greater the repression, the more likely a murderous explosion. The more political leaders like Nancy Pelosi on the left and the Freedom Caucus on the right legitimize anti-Semitism, the more likely the rage of repression will focus on Jews. Without his inner rage, Earnest would probably never have noticed the Chabad Center. He’d been too busy looking for a boyfriend.
Denial is a Family Matter
No one should be surprised when the killer’s family denies his Gay tendencies; they are the ones who imposed the extreme anti-Gay religiosity on him until he was driven criminally insane. Similarly, the political bigwigs do not want their narrative messed up. Omar Marteen was a Muslim terrorist, and no one better say otherwise. Pelosi certainly does not want one of the groups under the Dem Identity banner, Muslims, murdering another group under the Identity banner, Gays. The political right wing accepts zero responsibility for its psychological abuse of its children from the first words they hear from their preachers.
Whether one is Jewish, Muslim, Christian or secular, Western Civilization’s rabid anti-gay repression has driven and will continue to drive too many young men criminally insane.
