Dear Fellow Patriot,
Every day we hear about more barbaric murders in the Middle East, yet the silence coming from the White House and the far left is deafening.
Women’s hands being cut off for using cell phones. Human beings burned alive in cages. Dozens of Christian men executed.
It’s long past time for America’s leaders to stand up against the cruel and inhumane behavior we are witnessing around the world committed by radical Muslims and Islamic extremists.
Friend, these acts of oppression, torture and murder of innocent women and many more are happening almost daily. Yet, it appears that some would rather turn a blind eye to these atrocious crimes. Let me explain:
Last week I tweeted and used the Hashtag: #standupagainstIslam.
I was met with a fury of hostility and angry replies from people on the left accusing me of spreading hate. Amazing how my words can ignite a media storm, but there are people being murdered across the ocean, and no one is up in arms about that.
I will not allow the media and liberal internet trolls to bully me into silence. But that’s why I’m writing to you today.
If you agree with me that we cannot turn a blind eye, and we must stand up to these Islamic savages, then I hope you will join me today.
The murder of young humanitarian Kayla Mueller and the burning of Jordanian pilot Moaz al-Kassasbeh alive in cage are chilling reminders that we must stand up to these savages and hold them accountable. There must be consequences.
After growing up in Youngstown, Ohio, I enlisted in the United States Navy to serve my country. I attended the Defense Language Institute and became as a Russian translator for Naval Intelligence stationed in Japan. After my assignment in Japan, I was shipped off to a Naval base in Honolulu where I met my husband Nico also serving in the Navy.
Together Nico and I have thirty-four years of military service wearing our nation’s uniform and defending religious freedom. Today, we are raising our five children in California.
In 2008, just before Nico was called up to serve in Afghanistan, I ran for public office because I fear what will be left for the future of our five children. We must set an example of leadership for their generation.
Our country has been slipping in the wrong direction, but I know we can turn things around with the right leadership. It starts with our leaders having the guts to speak the truth and stand up to the evil thugs in this world who are committing such atrocities.
Join me in the fight today so we can continue getting our message out to the public that we are not going to apologize for having guts to save America.
God bless,
MELISSA MELENDEZ
California State Assemblywoman
United States Navy (Ret.)
