John O’Neill - CD14

ARCHIVE

’m John O’Neill and I’m running for City Council to create a better LA, to work for a higher quality of life for all of us -- not just for the rich.

My mother lived in LA affordable housing growing up, and that helped her family to work their way into the middle class on an LA public teacher’s salary.

Anyone who tries to do the same thing today will discover that there is a 6 YEAR wait list for affordable housing. Right now hundreds of thousands of families from Boyle Heights to Eagle Rock are struggling to find homes in this city we love. They can’t wait 6 years.

From housing to traffic to safety, our city is in crisis. Join me, and we can start solving problems. We will:

  • Build 100,000 new units by 2021 that working and middle class families can afford
  • Raise the minimum wage to $15.25 by 2019
  • Reduce traffic congestion by encouraging new development around existing metro stops
  • Enforce existing building codes that are supposed to protect renters and homeowners
  • Turn vacant city-owned spaces into community parks

Equip every LAPD officer with a body camera to stop bad cops and protect good cops.
