VOICES-(Re CityWatch article ‘American Icon Rafer Johnson and Neighborhood Councils’) Trying to negotiate the path through veteran services is like taking a trip through Alice's Wonderland. There are so many organizations, but there are so few beds or safe places to spend the night.
What I learned in my time of working with the homeless authorities, is that permanent supportive housing is not only the most compassionate, it is - long term- the most cost effective. It also provides a degree of dignity, something we all can appreciate.
