VOICES-The Mayor and City Council stand in locked arms with IBEW's d'Arcy to conceal the true operations of the DWP. (See ‘City vs. DWP Union)
If the City of Los Angeles stakeholders were dependent upon the ports or the airports (the two other revenue producers for the city government) we could take our business elsewhere when the costs become prohibitive. We cannot do that when having our pockets emptied by the DWP.
We are (literally) stuck with and by them and the IBEW.
The elected continue to get campaign money from the unions while the constituents get skewered.
I say "cheers" to Galperin who is trying to do the job that he was elected to do. It is quite a shock to have an elected be so conscientious.
I just wish that there were more conscientious elected who felt so compelled.
