Did Faithful Central Baptist Exec Threaten a Journalist … Twice?

ARCHIVE

INSIDE INGLEWOOD - Marc T. Little, Chief Operating Officer (COO) and General Counsel to Faithful Central Baptist Church, may have made thinly veiled threats on two separate occasions to this journalist—and it is being inferred as one that may be seeking extra-legal retribution for an article written by this journalist.

That article, titled "Troubled Pastor Gets the Call to Swear in Inglewood Councilmen," appeared on this news site on 26 July 2013. It exposed the current pastor’s coverup of a ring of pedophile pastors at Faithful Central Baptist Church.

Little is the COO and General Counsel for Faithful Central, a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt entity as well as COO and General Counsel for a for-profit firm that previously owned significant property in Inglewood. Both entities share a street address of 333 Florence Avenue in Inglewood.

Last week, Little approached this newsman and did not waste time introducing himself. "You will print a retraction. You had better print my letter and the facts about the matter in it."

Despite being given a business card where he could send that letter and afterward attempting to reach him via telephone at his law office in downtown Los Angeles, Little did not send his promised letter by press time.

Later in the week, Little reiterated his apparent intentions. When asked when the letter would be received, he flatly stated, “Please proceed in due course. What you have wrought is far more than a
letter.”

Little made clear that the pedophile cover-up story was no longer relevant owing to it being “five years old.”

The conflict-of-interest regarding Little’s paid positions within the nonprofit and for profit entities with a similar address is a glaring one, and may be one of the reasons the IRS has a team in Inglewood for
an eight-month stay.

At the 2012 Family of Champions Annual Business Meeting for Faithful Central Bible Church, Little stated: "the sale of the [property] ran into a huge obstacle in 2011 when the California Redevelopment Agency was abolished and, along with it, the $23.6 million that the City of Inglewood had allocated toward [it]."

He went on to announce: "the City of Inglewood was able to put together tax exempt bonds and other forms of funding to contribute $18 million."

What had previously been "allocated" from the state of CA became "tax-exempt bonds" from Inglewood taxpayers. By last Tuesday evening, mere hours after Little's possible threat, that $18 million had become a "rehabilitation loan" according to the mayor. The mayor's comment and a remarkable conversation about the quasi-legal status of that "loan" was broadcast on KCRW during the 7 p.m. program, "Which Way LA".

The mayor also shares a significant interest in Faithful Central. He has had a number of political meetings at its Living Room building on Florence, and he is under investigation for using Inglewood General Funds to pay for a video production team that filmed a "town hall" meeting that was sent out as campaign literature for Butts' upcoming 2014 mayoral campaign.

Butts is believed to have some connection to the January break-in of this journalist’s home office as well as the subsequent stalking of this newspaperman’s niece. A campaign contributor and paid staffer, Oliver T. Unaka, is presently under investigation by the LAPD for threats made to a retired schoolteacher moments before Butts disrupted a town-hall meeting. (The entire incident was recorded on videotape and the respective stories published on CityWatchLA.com.) As such,
Little’s threat is being taken very seriously.

He seemed particularly concerned with the tail statement of the story under review: “No one, not even God, would respond to requests for comments.”

When asked for forgiveness for the stylistic comment, Little did not answer and the phone line went dead.
