RESISTANCE WATCH--Shortly following a relatively tempered speech (by his standards) at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland on Friday, President Donald Trump veered from the script during a brief question-and-answer session, launching into a tirade against the "vicious" and "fake" press—a rant for which he was promptly booed by some attendees.

BCK FILE--At last week’s LA Women’s March, I read one woman’s sign, thanking Trump for turning her into an activist. I’ve been politically obsessed since childhood. I have specific memories of watching the Watergate hearings and was canvassing for local and presidential candidates long before I was old enough to vote.

RESISTANCE WATCH--I’m writing today about hashtags. In particular, I want to focus on what happens now that we’ve said #MeToo and #TimesUp.

RESISTANCE WATCH--As fallout continues over the president's offensive language during a closed-door meeting in the Oval Office, Rep. Keith Ellison (D-Minn.) argued that Donald Trump's specific word choice is irrelevant—"he has a long history of racism"—and that in the year ahead the public must "organize, organize, organize" to defeat his agenda. RESISTANCE WATCH--Please join the West Valley Resistance and Stand Strong LA in attending the LA City Council meeting at Van Nuys City Hall on Friday, Feb 2nd at 10 am to support our Councilman Bob Blumenfield, along with the entire City Council, who is working daily to defeat Trump's horrid agenda

RESISTANCE WATCH--The #MeToo backlash ― much predicted, fitfully rehearsed ― arrived in earnest this week, disguised as feminism. The pretext: a messily written story published on Saturday on, about a woman’s coercive sexual encounter with comedian Aziz Ansari.

RESISTANCE WATCH-The hipster real estate blog Curbed LA recently announced that San Pedro had fulfilled its destiny by winning the 2017 Curbed Cup. According to Curbed LA, the Curbed Cup is a celebration of neighborhood pride and that this Harbor Area neighborhood “knocked out Burbank to claim the title of Neighborhood of the Year.”
